Morocco has emerged as the most targeted country in Africa by PlayPraetor malware, a sophisticated Remote Access Trojan (RAT) capable of taking full control of smartphones. Once deployed, the malware allows cybercriminals to:

  • Monitor live screens in real-time
  • Deploy additional malware without user consent

Between July 16 and July 22, 2025, Morocco ranked as the 3rd most attacked country worldwide, behind only the United States and Israel.
