Following a cyberattack that targeted the data of its subscribers, Morocco’s National Social Security Fund (CNSS) issued an official statement clarifying that preliminary investigations revealed many of the documents circulating on social media had been tampered with or misleadingly presented.
According to the statement, the leaked information was often inaccurate or incomplete, raising questions about the true motives behind the attack.
The CNSS confirmed that the cyberattacks aimed to compromise its security infrastructure and bypass existing protective measures. While some data may have been accessed, cybersecurity experts are still assessing the origin and scope of the breach.
Despite the severity of the incident, the CNSS emphasized its swift and effective response. Rigorous security protocols were activated immediately, and corrective actions were taken to strengthen the digital system and protect subscriber data.
The fund reaffirmed that safeguarding subscriber information remains a top priority. An internal administrative investigation has been launched, and judicial authorities have been formally notified.
The CNSS urged citizens and media outlets to exercise caution and refrain from sharing or publishing any leaked or falsified documents. It also stressed the importance of respecting legal responsibilities regarding the dissemination of sensitive information.
