“TSMC” Negotiates with “NVIDIA”, “AMD”, and “Broadcom” to Rescue “Intel” from Crisis
Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer TSMC is seeking strategic partners to help revitalize the struggling U.S. giant Intel, which has been facing a decline in sales. According to a report from Reuters, citing sources familiar with the matter, TSMC has extended an offer to companies such as NVIDIA, AMD, and Broadcom for a joint venture to manage Intel’s factories.
Details of the Offer and Conditions
Under this offer, TSMC would take over the management of Intel’s factories, but its stake in the joint venture would be limited to 50%. This proposal follows initial reports indicating that the administration of President Donald Trump has reached out to TSMC to help Intel, which is struggling to compete in the semiconductor market.
Any potential agreement would require approval from the U.S. administration, as Trump has expressed concerns about foreign ownership of Intel’s U.S. factories. However, TSMC’s proposal addresses this issue by limiting its stake to 50%, while other American companies involved in the joint venture would maintain a presence in the U.S.
Future Opportunities and Global Trends
This move comes at a time when there is a significant global increase in demand for data centers and artificial intelligence infrastructure. With growing reliance on AI technologies, any joint venture with TSMC could align with the Taiwanese company’s strategy to expand its investments in the United States.
Earlier this month, TSMC announced a massive $100 billion investment in the U.S., aimed at boosting its production capacity at its facilities in Arizona.
The Long-standing Competition Between “Intel” and “TSMC”
Despite a long history of competition between Intel and TSMC in the semiconductor industry, TSMC has surpassed Intel in recent years due to its advanced technology and competitive capabilities. Nevertheless, Intel appears to be hoping that this potential partnership will help it regain its position in the market.
