European traders have reported that Tunisia‘s grain office purchased approximately 100,000 tons of soft wheat in an international tender held on Thursday. According to expectations, the lowest price reached was $268.67 per ton, including shipping costs, for a 25,000-ton shipment provided by Casillo.
Additionally, two shipments of the same weight were purchased from Viterra at $268.79 per ton, including shipping, while Buildcom from Bulgaria offered a shipment at $269.77 per ton, including shipping costs.
Traders noted that the wheat could come from optional origins. Further estimates regarding prices and quantities are expected to be released later.
Tunisia requested the wheat supply for the period between April 10 and May 25, depending on origin, to meet its basic food needs.
