Microsoft has announced the availability of an option for consumers and businesses to purchase Extended Security Updates (ESU) for an additional year after official support ends, according to the company’s official website.
Individual users will be able to purchase these updates for $30 for the first year, while businesses will face tiered pricing: $61 for the first year, $122 for the second year, and $244 for the third year.
Microsoft confirmed that these updates will be limited to critical security updates only, without introducing new features or bug fixes, providing organizations and users with additional time to strengthen security before transitioning to newer operating systems.
