US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Visit Saudi Arabia for Talks with Ukrainian Officials

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia from March 10 to 12, 2025, for discussions with Ukrainian officials, according to the US State Department.

Tammy Bruce, the spokesperson for the State Department, confirmed that Rubio will also meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss regional and international issues of mutual interest.

After his visit to Saudi Arabia, Rubio will travel to Canada from March 12 to 14, 2025, to attend the G7 Foreign Ministers’ meeting.

The statement noted that Rubio had spoken with his Ukrainian counterpart, Andriy Sebyha, last Friday, informing him that US President Donald Trump is determined to end the war between Russia and Ukraine as soon as possible.

Trump had decided to suspend military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine following a clash at the White House with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on February 28, 2025.

On another note, President Zelensky announced plans to visit Saudi Arabia on Monday to meet with Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Reports indicate that Ukrainian diplomatic and military representatives will meet with the US team on Tuesday as part of the ongoing discussions between the two parties.
